ST. PETERSBURG, FL—The Tampa Bay Rays announced today that a detailed transportation and parking study has concluded that the Al Lang site in downtown St. Petersburg is well suited for the Rays waterfront ballpark.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL—The Tampa Bay Rays today submitted a Preliminary Design Consideration Document to the City of St. Petersburg. Concepts highlighted in this document include ballpark roof and façade design, the relationship of the proposed ballpark to the surrounding community, potential public amenities, streetscape improvement ideas and sustainability goals.

The City of St. Petersburg, Florida may issue a Request for Proposals ("RFP") on or around January 18, 2008 for an 86-acre assembled site located in downtown St. Petersburg, which could be available for phased development as early as 2009.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Tampa Bay Rays principal owner Stuart Sternberg announced today the Rays’ plans for a new 34,000 seat, retractable-roof, open-air ballpark on the St. Petersburg waterfront at the site of historic Al Lang Field.
